In conjunction with the celebration of Bulan Ramadhan, Taste Café by G Hotel Gurney had brought to you Ramadhan fiesta buffet that feature Southeast Asia Malay cuisine. G Hotel Gurney had specially decorated their dining area for their diners to experience only the best gastronomic journey of buffet. During this month, Chef Dodi from Indonesia creatively infuse Malay cuisine element into their Ramadhan menu. Everything is perfectly done and brings you a festive feeling.

西式开胃吧台上有多种脆绿莴苣,可以淋上喜爱的沙拉调料,配着乳酪吃。或者尝试马来传统沙拉(Ulam-ulam & Kerabu),鲜虾沙拉(Kerabu Udang)带有洋葱与辣椒的微香呛辣,凉拌凤梨黄瓜(Kerabu Jelatah)的酸甜滋味也相当爽口。推荐你了解马来饮食文化口味的方法,在这儿拿些生菜臭豆、咸鱼和咸蛋,掺合餐厅自制叁巴和亚叁酱(Sambal Belacan & Assam)开餐,口腔里必定溢满了浓厚的道地咸香。

You can start with the appetizer at salad bar station where you can create your own salad by mixing and matching from a variety of selections including Ice Berg Lettuce, Red Chicory, Lollo Rossa, Cherry Tomatoes and an array of housemade condiments and dressings.

You also can feast on their Malay appetizer with a selection of Kerabu Perut Lembu, Kerabu Udang, Telur Masin, Sambal Kacang Ikan Bilis with a choice of house specialty sauces and condiments, which are Air Assam, Sambal Belachan, Cincaluk Acar Limau, Tempoyak and Budu. We recommend you to try this because you can’t always find it in buffet and the mixture of taste will really amaze you.

星期五与星期六的自助餐菜单里有火山岩石烧烤,价格也比较高。酒店专程从印尼空运当地火山岩石,也是槟城第一家使用火山石进行烧烤的餐厅。相较于一般的木炭烧烤,火山石能保留肉质的鲜嫩多汁,避免烟熏炭化,也确保食材营养不轻易流失。烧烤档口摆满腌制的食材,包括农场的鸡鸭牛羊、沙爹、香肠,新鲜海产如秋刀鱼、花枝、鲭鱼等,就像一个小型自助餐。

On Friday and Saturday, G Hotel Gurney had added on Malay Panggang Feast Grill by using the Penang’s first ever Lava Stone BBQ grill for a promising mouth-watering treats. The Lava Stone comes exclusively from Indonesia, which perfectly enhances the quality of the food by holding the natural flavor, moisture and nutrients in the food, while preventing flare-ups that cause charring.

Get the chef to grill some of the all-time favorite freshly caught seafood such as Sanma Fish, Saba Fish, Prawns, or the ever popular Satay Beef or Chicken. All the grilled delights are complemented with finger licking sauces of Air Assam, Sambal Dip, BBQ Sauce and Black Pepper Sauce. Although the price is slightly higher but it is still worth every penny you spend on it.

印尼鸡汤(Soto Ayam Mardura Soup)放入椰浆和柠檬草等本地香料熬煮几小时。开始享用主菜前,不妨先喝一小碗,用鼻腔和味蕾去感受香味扑鼻的汤底。主菜料理选择多样,厨师团队巧妙运用马来调味来烹煮出仁当(Rendang)、黄姜辣味(Kunyit Berchili)等现代马来风味。现炒煮面食摊位、炸香蕉芋头、煎饼、亚叁加沙(Assam Laksa)、马来高点、烤全羊也是此次斋月自助餐的特色卖点。

Another favorite dishes is their Soto Ayam Mardura Soup. It is a mixture of shredded chicken, coconut milk, lemon grass cooked with spices and fresh herbs or try the Bubur Lambok Telur Masin, a spicy and heady mix of flavour dish that features black pepper, salted egg, cumin and many guarded ingredients. The soup is so flavorful and satisfying too.

饱餐一顿,总是需要好吃的甜食做完美的结尾,舒缓和平抚味蕾的刺激。这一次略过了意式冰淇淋和煎堆(Cendol),选择水果罗惹(Rojak Buah),蘸虾酱撒些花生碎入口,还有暖热的香蕉西米露(Pengat Pisang Bersagu) 。让我惊艳的甜点是榴莲冻奶油蛋糕(Durian Mousse),本身有点抗拒榴莲的口感,但这款蛋糕只有在入口即化时,才随着绵细的奶油散发郁郁淡香的榴莲味,唇齿留香。

A good buffet should end with a happy ending – Dessert. After having all those savory foods, it’s time to cleans and calm down our palate with some sweet dessert. This time we give the usual dessert (Gelato & Cendol) a pass and choose Rojak Buah & Pengat Pisang Bersagu as our dessert. The dessert that worth to mention is Durian Mousse. I am afraid of durian taste but surprisingly enjoys this Durian Mousse.

还未开始用餐之前,和主厨Chef Dodi小聊几句,他的笑容特别亲切友善,也借机了解斋月主题的餐饮灵感。这里想提一点,我在G Hotel Taste Café 的用餐体验感觉良好,餐厅料理重质不重量,选择未必比其它酒店多元,但味道和服务却是无可否认的好。用餐后也和一群友人聊得很开心,很是满足度过了美好的一晚。

Chef Dodi is so friendly and we had the opportunity to get to know where the inspirations of the buffet dinner come from. I want to specially highlight that dine in G Hotel is a very pleasant experience. They really focus on the quality of each dish. So, it might not have huge variety of food like other hotel offers. The reason we still recommend G Hotel Gurney is because of the taste of the food and also their heartwarming service. This is really a great experience and a memorable night.
