在街头艺术家Ernest Zachaveric「艺术是垃圾，垃圾是艺术」的艺术展里，我被感动不是因为作品的专业审美诠释，毕竟我不懂绘画这一方面。而是他的作品和槟城人有种亲密的关系，浓浓的地方人情味特别容易让人产生共鸣。游览拍照期间说不上深刻和震撼，但这些画作却唤醒了曾经存在我脑海中的记忆，像走马灯一样闪过许多画面。

In Ernest Zachaveric "Art is rubbish is art" art exhibition, Kim was impressed not only by the professional paintings (But Kim do not understand this aspect), but Zach art works that correlation with the culture of Penang. These paintings are more a like a reporter that telling story about old Penang.

墙上大幅壁画：彩虹下的男孩

我们从彩虹下走出来。

展览地点是间废弃的巴士公司维修站，位于Jalan Gurdwara，Grand Continental Hotel对面。「艺术是垃圾，垃圾是艺术」分为两个展览厅：室内与室外。室外的作品延续墨镜系列的风格，大型，人物主题，画在斑驳的老墙壁上。室内的作品画在经历岁月年华洗礼的门板、木窗、竹帘、麻布袋，以人物和老槟城主题。其中，人物的表情和神韵吸引人，都值得画上一段时间凝视和感受。

Exhibition Venue is an abandoned bus station, located in Jalan Gurdwara, opposite the Grand Continental Hotel. There are indoor and outdoor exhibition halls. Painting works in outdoor focus on bigger size of drawing, character theme and painted on the obsolete walls.

Bamboo curtain, wooden windows, gunny bags and wooden doors are the materials used for painting in indoor part with the theme of old Penang. The facial expression and emotion are so real and worth spending time on it to feel what Ernest is trying to bring out.

垃圾、废物「Rubbish」，即指那些被扔弃，腐朽或失去价值的东西。艺术「Art」这个词的解读多元，但却不能忽略艺术应该具备的创意和创造性的方式。而当垃圾变成艺术，艺术是垃圾时，中间这个循环创造性的过程是很惊人的，艺术家必须以天马行空的想象力为垃圾注入新生命，丰富原本失去的内容和色彩。看看这些的画作，这两个小时里，彻底改变我对垃圾的刻板想法。

Rubbish simply referring to something lost its value or function and there are few ways to describe Art, but all in all, it’s about creativity. In this exhibition, Zach is trying to turn the rubbish into art with using creativity and this combination is amazing. Rubbish has transformed and regained its value under the imagination of artist.

垃圾推车，一推垃圾一把金啊。

艺术展的主题明确，垃圾摇身一变，也能具有其审美价值。最明显的莫过于展览厅了，谁能想到这件旧巴士公司维修站能成为艺术展览的地点，这就像是一场美丽的艺术革命，培养和创造槟城的新文化风气。

The objective of this exhibition is clear and direct, which is rubbish could be reuse and become something useful with some creativity. There is no doubt because who would have thought this abandoned old bus depot locations can be art exhibitions. Certainly, Zach has make murals a trend for youngster today and so a part of Penang culture.

展览出现好几次的马，可能是配合马年的关系。

麻布一直是我的最爱，但这作品的动人情感更是我的心头爱。

展览2月14结束，至于这些作品会如何处置，就等当局公布了。

以下是两年前在Ernest Zachaveric的街头画作前的留影，回看当时年轻生涩的模样，就发现岁月不留人。可惜汶翰在外坡工作无法回来，要不然我们必定在这艺术展里打闹一番，回味当时初次接触这些壁画的情形。

距离Ernest Zachaveric在槟城机缘巧合画下的壁画已有三年多，他对艺术的贡献是有目共睹的。至少，一波又一波的壁画风潮不断在槟城发生，你可以看到面子书开始分享哪里哪里有新的画作，或是朋友到槟城游走，每次都有新壁画入镜。前些天和朋友谈到这个问题，突然觉得槟城的壁画有些多，每个人都在效仿他在老墙壁作画，甚至开始出现他的复制品。

绘画艺术能培养一座城市的艺术氛围，但应该也要点到即止吧。

It has been three years Zach started mural painting in Penang and his contribution to art is no doubt. Murals have become a tourist spot of Penang and a gossip topic for everyone. A few days ago, friends and I come to this issue, we suddenly felt there are too much murals in Penang. His replica existed and murals from others started appear here and there. Mural painting is a good artistic culture but in the sense of not too over!
