很少介绍槟城北海的美食，居住了二十多年，常常往不同的餐馆和路边摊子吃，已经习惯在地的味道。这种习惯不见得是一件好事，习惯会让我们吃得匆忙快速，而忘了应该要好好品尝食物的美味。吃火锅却是例外，每一次慢慢品尝都能带来不同的感受，刺激食欲，仿佛火锅里滚烫着生活的味道，五味杂陈的味觉记忆。

It’s strange that we rarely introduce food available at Butterworth. May be we already stay here for more than 20 years and get use to all the food here. We start to forget about how delicious the food we ate every day. When it comes to hotpot, we tend to slow down and truly enjoy it. We taste it carefully and enjoy the excitement that a good hotpot broth brings to us. Having hot pot is a good way that we connect with each other and share our taught, problem and also happiness together.

家乡重庆火锅馆，槟城岛内外各有一家店，由来自中国的大厨烹煮，提供多种重庆麻辣汤底。家乡火锅馆的环境舒服、食材新鲜、服务态度亲切，使我们愿意回头光顾。这次要了份清汤锅底和干锅田鸡。特别推荐家乡的干锅田鸡，爆炒火候拿捏得好，一入口就品尝到田鸡肉的滑嫩，辣料和配菜也带出辛香的口感。经过改良的中辣比较顺和，偶尔还真会想起这里干锅田鸡肉，舌尖上净是爽口鲜美无穷的滋味。

Gia Xiang Steamboat Restaurant located at both Penang island and mainland. Their chef came from China which is an expert in cooking different type of Chong Qing spicy broth. Gia Xiang Steamboat Restaurant have a very comfortable environment and also friendly staff. This is the kind of restaurant that we will revisit again. We ordered chicken broth and frog dry pot. The frog is perfectly cook and is so tender. Together with the spicy sauce, it is very unforgettable. Their chef is sweet enough to slightly modify their recipe to suit our local taste, but yet it is still very authentic. Everything was perfectly cooked and we had a pleasant dinner there.
