Macalister Mansion | Living Room · Aternoon Tea With TWG Tea (Georgetown, Penang)

Macalister Mansion: Living Room

(Lorong Selamat, Georgetown Penang)

Lorong Selamat, Penang

When you visit Malaysia and especially Penang, local coffee shop is one of the things that you can see it everywhere at every corner. Kopitiam, is a combination of Malay and Hokkien which is probably came from Peranakan. Kopi is the Malay word that means coffee and Tiam is a Hokkien that means shop. Cool right. So, don’t miss out when you visit Penang.

While in Lorong Selamat, Georgetown, there are 2 famous char kway teow seller there. One of it is located at Heng Huat Kopitiam and other is Loh Eng Hoe Kopitiam. Both have their own secret recipe and unique taste that made them so different. But, the similarity is you have to queue very long to get to your turn. The reason we choose to visit Loh Eng Hoe Kopitiam is just because there have more variety of food and you can taste lots of Penang signature local dishes there while waiting for your char kway teow.

Do you guys know Vietnam covers a total area of approximately 331,210 km2, making it almost the size of Germany according to Wikipedia. You also can easy see that by looking at the world map, as you can see Vietnam is a very long in size and have a very long coastline too. Vietnam was also part of Imperial China over decades so you will feel like you were at china at some places. Also not to forget, Vietnam was also colonized by French before. So, Vietnam is an interesting country that has a combination of east and west.

When I was at Hanoi, I always imagine that 4 of us visit here someday and have a cup of hot coffee beside the lake. It is just perfect with the chill or slightly cold weather. Looking at local’s pass by and doing their daily routine is just priceless. Sometimes, travel does not mean that you need to visit every single tourist attraction only proved that you visit the country before. Have a few days off and truly merge in the local life another way to enjoy your trip. Somehow, you will expect some unexpected to happen. That’s called travel!!!
